On June 15th, the World Series of Poker announced its schedule for 2021. The event will be hosted in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino of Las Vegas between September 23rd and November 23rd. There will be a wide variety of games available, and players will have a chance to win 88 gold bracelets for winning different events. Ty Stewart, WSOP’s Executive Director, believes that WSOP 2021 will attract many players after the break of a few months. In the press release about WSOP 2021, Stewart made some important announcements about the event.
The buy-in for the significant event, ‘the reunion,’ will be a low $500, but the prize pool will be $5,000,000 GTD. Some classics of WSOP will be hosted every Friday and Saturday when the event is ongoing. These returning flagship games will mostly be no-limit hold’em games like Millionaire Maker, Monster Stack, and so on.
Stewart also announced that the cap for the no-limit heads-up hold ’em game was set at 64 players. A new online event called Flip and Go was also added to the event list. A few freezeout events have also been announced. Some changes to the starting day rules of senior events have been introduced for WSOP 2021.
Another exciting element of WSOP 2021 will be the Poker Hall of Fame Bounty game, inviting all living members of the Poker Hall of Fame to join in. WSOP 2021 will also have the highest ever buy-in for a pot-limit Omaha game. Ty Stewart has also announced that WSOP organizers are hoping for some international participation in September in light of relaxing international travel restrictions. WSOP 2021 has also announced its commitment to follow all Covid guidelines that are in place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
